Joan Anita Belmont

Joan Anita Belmont, 94, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Cortland, NY. She was the loving daughter to Vernon and Alice Jeffery and beloved wife to Thomas G. Belmont. Joan was a devoted mother to Anita Fisher, Jeffery Belmont, Susan Soares and Teressa Moore, a doting "gramma" to 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was a faithful woman who served her church and country. Joan enlisted in the US Air Force during the Korean War. She was active, funny, thoughtful and stubborn. Joan was well loved and is missed terribly. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 13th at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, NY 13084 from 4PM to 7PM.Burial will be private.
