Jo Ann Vaughn

Jo Ann Lane Vaughn, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 23, 1932, to Frank Roland Lane and Evie Layune Seale Lane.

To know Jo Ann was to feel the warmth of her joy, her quick wit, and a love that flowed effortlessly to anyone she met. Flirtatious and funny, she was always ready with a clever remark, yet she carried herself with a timeless grace—proper, humble, and beautiful both inside and out.

A devoted wife and partner, Jo Ann loved deeply and faithfully. She shared more than sixty years with her husband, Curtis Vaughn Sr., building a home filled with laughter, hard work, and faith. Later in life she found companionship and joy in her marriage to Henry Worrell. Ahead of her time in her career, she succeeded in a male-dominated field through determination, intelligence, and charm. Her faith remained her foundation; she taught Sunday school for many years, leading by quiet example and sharing a deep, joyful belief in God’s goodness. She saw the world with awe and wonder, finding beauty in the smallest things, and her contagious joy remained with her until the end.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Henry Worrell, and his children, Steve Worrell (Diane) and Susan Holsombeck (Reggie); her children, Kristin Stevens, Curtis Vaughn (Ella), and Jill Vaughn (Jose Rivera); grandchildren, Jo Ann Goggins (Tristan), Dakota Jefferson, and Jose Rivera; and great-grandchildren, Jaxon Goggins and Piper Goggins. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Vaughn Sr., her parents, Frank and Evie Lane, and her son-in-law, Bill Stevens.
