Jo Ann Short, a cherished homemaker whose loving spirit and dedicated heart touched all who knew her, was born on August 25, 1940, in Hilltop, Kentucky. She lived a life rich in devotion, creativity, and family warmth until her peaceful passing on March 14, 2026.
Raised with strong values, Jo Ann graduated from Hughes High School and became known for her exquisite kindness and gentle nature. Her hands were always busy creating beauty through cross stitch, baby blankets, painting, clothing design, and paper dolls, enriching her home with artistry and love.
Her proudest accomplishment was her family. She was the devoted wife of Juette “Jet” Short, and together they raised their children: Camala (Paul) Hartlaub, Kimberly (Robert) Richardson, Amberly (David) Lake, and Deanna Short. Jo Ann’s heart was full with her grandchildren: Brittany (Michael) Collins, Robert (Megan) Richardson, Katelyn (Ryan) Hoskins, Tyler (Ali) Lake, Corry (Taylor) Lake, David (Abby) Lake, Breanna Lake, Aimee Hartlaub, and Grace Hartlaub. She also cherished her brother Bobby Jones and many nieces and nephews.
