Jo Ann Asadorian
March 23, 1937— March 4, 2026
Bainbridge Township, OH
Jo Ann Asadorian (nee Britting), age 88, of Bainbridge Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026. Born March 23, 1937, in Cleveland to Nicholas and Ann Britting, Jo was a proud graduate of East High School. Her professional journey led her to the Burdett Oxygen Company, where she served as a credit manager and met the love of her life and husband of 63 years, George Asadorian. Lovingly known as “Jomama,” Jo’s life was a masterclass in devotion. She was the unwavering foundation of her family, “a True Matriarch” —serving at various times as a teacher, taxi driver, short-order cook, nurse, coach, therapist, travel agent, and financial planner. A woman of boundless wisdom, she truly "knew everything about everything"—and was always happy to share that knowledge with anyone who asked, or didn’t ask. Though of Serbian descent, through George, Jo held a profound love and respect for the Armenian people and culture. Over decades of global travel with George, she turned their home into a sanctuary. Her doors were always open to those traveling from Armenia for medical treatment, education, or new beginnings. She did not just welcome guests; she treated them as family. It is for this tireless generosity and sincere compassion that so many affectionately called her their “American Mom.” Jo was the beloved mother of Kari, Kevan (Susie), Kris (Susan), Kathy Shahinian (John), and Kelly (Dave). She was the dear sister of Jeanne Nuccitelli and a proud, cherished grandmother to Jack, Nick, Adam, George, Drew, Bret, Corrina, Britting, Lucy and Melanya, and great grandmother to Wes. Her warmth and light touched the lives of countless relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jo’s life at St. John Funeral Home,16381 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 on Thursday, March 26 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M., with a closing service to follow. Interment private, Friday, March 27. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church in Jo’s memory. (https://stgregoryofnarek.org/donate/)
