Jimmy Ray Mellon

Jimmy Ray Mellon, 90, of Talladega, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 15, 2026.

Born on January 16, 1936, Jimmy worked as a machinist at Soderhamn and as a jailer at the Talladega City Jail. He also served with pride in the Army National Guard before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Mellon; his brother, Robert; his sisters, Inez, Ruth, and Sara; his parents, Gentry and Ruth; and his daughter-in-law, Diann.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Ronald Mellon and Gregory Mellon (Teresa); his grandchildren, Jeremy Mellon (Kat), Christina Hearon (Jeremy), Kyle Mellon (Santana), Matthew Mellon (Amy), and Kayla Nielsen (Caleb); his great-grandchildren, Kytana Mellon, Sebastian Mellon, Payton Hearon, Athena Mellon, Ember Mellon, Charlotte Nielsen, Naomi Mellon, and Isabella Mellon; his brothers, Joe Mellon (Marie) and Wayne Mellon; his sister, Maretta Hall (Frank); and many nieces and nephews.
