Jimmy Ray Grant, born on November 23, 1949, in Galveston, Texas, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Cartersville, Georgia. A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Jimmy touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth and kindness.
He is survived by his eight children: Sandra Lynn Ryan, Hope Michelle Beck, Christina Perreria Laning (John), Daniel Lee Beck, Tommy Ernest Beck (Penny), Ricky Dewayne Beck (Jodie), James Grant (Selena), and Charles Grant. His legacy lives on through his 25 grandchildren and his cherished great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Betty Joyce Grant, and his parents, Jimmy and Rose Grant.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Jimmy retired from the City of Cartersville after more than 25 years of service as a sanitation worker. He later spent nearly a decade at Walmart, where his kind-hearted and jovial spirit was evident to everyone he met. He delighted in bringing joy to children by dressing as Santa Claus during the holiday season. Jimmy found pleasure in collecting Pokémon cards and knives, playing Bingo, and watching his favorite classic television shows, Gunsmoke and In the Heat of the Night. A devoted member of the Path of Christ Church, he found comfort and strength in his faith under the guidance of Pastor Johnny Atkins.
