Jimmy Dale Vickery

Jimmy Dale Vickery, age 91, of Cumming, GA passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026. Jimmy Vickery joined the Army in 1954 and served honorably in the elite Special Forces in Ft. Bragg, NC for 21 years including 3 tours in Vietnam. MSG Vickery retired in 1975 and was awarded many medals during his military career to include the Purple Heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Vickery; parents, Belton and Ruby Vickery; brother, Norris Vickery and sisters, Annette Shoemake and Gwendolyn Haynes. Survivors include his daughter, Veronika Lancaster (Chris); grandson, Maxwell Lancaster, Fayetteville, NC; stepdaughters, Terri Handrop (Glenn) of Cumming, GA, Sherri Pace (David) of Commerce, GA; sister, Rebecca Griggs of Beardstown, IL; loving companion, Janet Honeycutt of Cumming, GA and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home with his nephew, Rev. Jody Vickery officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the American Heart Association.
