Jimmy Spivey ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Clark Legacy Center - Nicholasville on Mar. 9, 2026.Jimmy Dale Spivey, 68, husband of Deede Noel Spivey, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on March 6, 2026. He was born in Danville, Kentucky on October 17, 1957, to the late Shirley Middleton Bowman and George Spivey.Jimmy was a graduate of Lafayette High School and began a career in flooring sales at Dickens Floorcovering. He later worked for Howard Carpenter and Sam Kinnairds, spending the last 25 years at Rodgers Flooring. In his 45 years of sales, he became a familiar and trusted presence in Lexington, balancing a successful career with living life to the fullest. Jimmy loved life and loved people, always making time for his wife of 44 years, his friends, and supporting his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters in all of their activities. Many days were spent golfing at Lone Oak Country Club and Spring Valley Golf Club. He also loved fishing and beach trips with the family. His faith in Jesus and support from his Southland Christian Church family, the Peacekeepers bible study, and his many friends from grade school, sports teams, golf, high school, customers and work associates helped sustain him particularly in his last two years battling pancreatic cancer.Whether he was living life to the fullest or fighting for his life, Jimmy did it all with a smile on his face, a positive attitude, and a warmth that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.He is survived by his wife, Deede; daughter, Shannon (Justin) Price; granddaughters Annabelle and Libby; his stepfather, Danny Bowman; and many other family and friends whom he loved.Visitation will be held at Church of the Savior, 1301 Brannon Road in Nicholasville on March 19th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to:Bluegrass Care Navigators1733 Harrodsburg Rd.Lexington, KY 40504Southland Christian ChurchLocal Outreach - Backpack ProgramPO Box 23338Lexington, KY 40523Church of the Savior1301 Brannon Rd.Nicholasville, KY 40356To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
