Jimmy Dale Duncan, 85, of Longview, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2026. Born on May 12, 1940, in Norphlet, Arkansas, to Samuel Earl and Susan Joy Duncan, Jimmy grew up in Camden, Arkansas, where he graduated from Fairview High School.

A gifted skater from a young age, Jimmy worked at the local skating rink and there met the love of his life, Imogene Ruth Jones. The two married and built a life together, first moving to Longview where Jimmy worked as a welder for LeTourneau Manufacturing. They later settled at Lake Cherokee, where he became an independent welder before joining Trinity Industries, from which he retired in 2007. Jimmy found great joy in fishing and hunting throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Duncan; his parents, Samuel and Susan Duncan; his siblings, William Earl Duncan, Betty Sue Burgett, and David Allen Duncan; and his brother-in-law, J. T. Burgett.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Ronnie Duncan and wife Barbara of Longview, Texas, Tommy Duncan and wife Jackie of Cypress, Texas, and Timmy Duncan and wife Selee of Hallsville, Texas; his brother, Gary Duncan of Bueche, Louisiana; sisters-in-law Patti Duncan of Shreveport, Louisiana, Tamara Bello of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Fern Slocom and husband David of Camden, Arkansas, and Betty Duncan of Camden, Arkansas; grandchildren Misty Hassell, Jared Duncan, Steven Duncan, Landon Duncan, Macee Duncan, and Colton Duncan; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
