Jimmy D. Lloyd, age 81, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Monday, August 21, 1944, to Charlie H. and Amelia Lee Etta (Gardner) Lloyd, at Bennington, OK. Jimmy passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Durant, OK. He attended Mannsville Public School and graduated from Mannsville High School. He went on to Murray State College, and then SOSU where he received his Bachelor's of Science and Natural Science. Jim later went on to OU, where he was a graduate assistant received his Education Degree in Chemistry, Aerospace and Computer Science and where he received his Master's Degree. Jimmy was a teacher in Coalgate and Atoka for 40 plus years. He taught chemistry, biology and tech. He married Virginia Charlene (Young) on Thursday, August 4th, 1966 at Madill, OK. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing on December 28, 2020. Jimmy loved astronomy, coin collecting, photography, was a sci-fi fan (Star Trek), golfing, avid OU fan, watching sports and loved visiting with his family and friends.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Sandra Rhae Heskett of Dallas, TX; grandson, Blake Heskett of Atoka, OK; granddaughter, Julia Rhae Heskett of Lewisville, TX; brothers, Ervin Lloyd of Chicago, IL, Anthony Lloyd of Bokchito, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Amelia Lee Etta Lloyd; wife, Charlene Lloyd; son, John David Lloyd; brothers, Roscoe Lloyd, John Lloyd; sister, Mary Chalakee.
