June 28, 1947— March 12, 2026
Stantonville, TN
Jimmie Paige Wiles was born on June 28, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana, the son of the late Ross and Doris Shively Wiles. From an early age, he possessed a quiet strength, a hardworking spirit, and a heart that found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life.
A proud veteran, Jimmie honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His time in the Marines remained a source of great pride throughout his life, and he carried the values of duty, loyalty, and perseverance with him long after his service ended.
On June 21, 1969, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Woods. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, loyalty, and family. Carolyn preceded him in death on March 11, 2025, and though her passing left a deep void, the love they shared for more than five decades remained a constant part of Jimmie’s story.
For more than forty years, Jimmie worked as a truck driver, spending countless miles on the road to provide for those he loved. He understood the value of hard work and the satisfaction that came from doing a job well. In his free time, he found peace outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing in the quiet of the woods and the stillness of the water. He also had a natural gift for trading, always ready to strike up a deal and often leaving with a smile and a story to tell.
Jimmie shared a special bond with his faithful dog, Sweet Pea, who was rarely far from his side. Above all, he loved his family, who were the center of his life and the source of his greatest pride. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Mr. Wiles departed this life on March 12, 2026, in Stantonville, Tennessee, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 12 days. He is survived by two sons, Terry Wiles of Stantonville, Tennessee, and Steven Wiles of Stantonville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Kortney Henson and husband Bobby of Selmer, Tennessee, Ashley Barnes and husband Barry of Corinth, Mississippi, Paige Espanet and husband David of Pocahontas, Tennessee, and Alex Wiles of Selmer, Tennessee; and nine great-grandchildren: Madalyn, Aubrey, Sawyer, Vivian, Jacob, Gavin, Charlee, Sarah, and Zach.
The love Jimmie gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy is found in the family he cherished, the stories he shared, and the quiet, steady love he leaves behind.
