Jesus Villarreal

Jesus Villarreal, known affectionately as Chuy, was born on December 23, 1924, and passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 101. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Rosaura Villarreal, his sons Jesus Villarreal, Jr. and Andres Villarreal, and great-granddaughters Lily and Lucy Rose Carrillo.

Chuy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He is survived by his brother Robert Villarreal, daughters Rosa Villarreal, Marta Villarreal, Gloria Sanchez (Gilbert), and Alma Garza (Nat), daughter-in-law Elsie Villarreal, sons Alfredo Villarreal (Esther) and Raul Villarreal (Rose), grandchildren Jessica Cerella (Aurelio), Brenda Carrillo, Gilbert Sanchez, Jr. (Jennifer), Romi Villarreal, Crystal Flores (Robert), Nicole Villarreal, Raul Villarreal, Jr., Jessica Rabago (Brett), Alfredo Villarreal, Jr. (Stephanie), and Nathan Garza, along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

For more than 35 years, Chuy worked at the Lone Star Beer Distributing Warehouse. Though dedicated to his job, he always made time for his family, often taking them to the park for barbecues and baseball games, or to nearby lakes and rivers to swim. He looked forward to hunting season with his rifle and enjoyed fishing in the summer. He also loved visiting the casino and hosting lively card games at home, which he fondly called the “casino Villarreal.”

Chuy lived by the words, “No me canso de dar gracias a Dios. Diosito es muy grande.” He strived always to do the right thing for himself and for others. He lived a full and happy life, and those who knew him could not help but love his warmth and zest for life.
