Jessie Ray Page

Jessie Ray Page

November 2, 1938 March 9, 2026

Aurora, IL

Jessie Ray (Mitchell) Page, daughter of the late David and Mattie (Shiflett) Mitchell, was born on November 2, 1938, in Roanoke, Alabama, and passed away on March 9, 2026, at her home in Aurora, Illinois, at the age of 87.

As a child, her family moved to LaGrange, Georgia, where she was raised in a hardworking sharecropping household. While working as a waitress near Fort Benning, Georgia, she met William Page, and the two were married on August 24, 1960. The couple later settled in Aurora, Illinois, where they built a home and raised their two sons. Jessie devoted herself to her family as a dedicated homemaker, finding her deepest joy in the company of her loved ones. She and William shared a simple, cherished evening tradition of watching Wheel of Fortune together. A natural caregiver, she was never happier than when babysitting her grandchildren and watching her family grow.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William Page, her brother Roy Mitchell, and her parents, David and Mattie Mitchell.

She is survived by her sons, David Page and Latham Page and his wife Joy, three grandchildren, Michael (Samantha), Amber (Jeff), and Rory, and six great-grandchildren, Maddy, Aiden, Weston, Amelia, Jeffery, and Latham, who were the light of her life. Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a caring neighbor and friend. Her family will always cherish the many memories they shared with her.
