He was born on November 27, 1946, to Jessie Nañes and Ramona Cedillo Nañes.After graduating from Wallis High School, Jessie proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Colorado and Germany. He was also a proud member of the American Legion for over 50 years.Following his military service, he met and married the love of his life, Mina Garcia Nañes. Together they built a loving family and were blessed with two children, Jessie and Diana.Jessie was well known in the Wallis community as the local barber, a profession he dedicated more than 50 years to. Many also knew him as the "insurance man," having worked for American National and American General insurance companies for over 20 years. Earlier in his career, during the 1970s, he worked as a machinist for Cameron Iron Works and WKM.Above all, Jessie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.He is survived by his loving wife, Mina Nañes; his son, Jessie Nañes III and wife Maria; his daughter, Diana Amaya and husband Shawn; his sisters, Janie Alderete and Mary Hernandez; and his brother, Joe Nañes. He was a proud grandfather to Jessie Nañes IV, Justin Andrew Nañes, Maiya Lizabeth Nañes, Austin Shawn Amaya, and Ryan Matthew Amaya.Jessie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Nañes and Ramona Cedillo Nañes.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
