Jessie Howard Cordle, age 66, of the Wysor Valley section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Virginia. Born on February 2, 1960, in Richlands, Virginia, he was the son of the late George Washington and Hazel Marie Shelton Cordle. He spent his early years in the area before moving to Sevierville, Tennessee, where he lived for many years before returning to Virginia. He worked for Walmart and found great joy in fishing, traveling, riding, and sharing meals with others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Ann Smith Cordle; his son, Jessie “Pumpkin” Cordle, Jr.; his grandson, Johnny Washington Cordle; his stepmother, Virginia Cordle; his sisters, Carol Cordle, Patsy Sue Coleman, Linda Shelton, Lillian Osborne, and Lillie Ann Lane; and his brother, Lucky Joe Cordle.

He is survived by his children, Johnny Cordle and his fiancée Pamela of Honaker, Virginia, and Marilyn J. Patty and her husband Delmus of Slidell, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Malachi Emilo and Micah Emilo; and his grandchildren at heart, Kimberly Stump, Michelle Lester, Tamykia Lester, Corbin Lester, Tamion Lester, Nichole Fuller, Allie Dales, Braylen Stump, Brantley “Bam-Bam” Stump, Shaylah Reynolds, and Natasha “Babygirl” Campbell. He also leaves behind special friends Sue Dye, Carter Dye, and Teresa and Cecil Artrip; his sisters Tammy Street, Kathy Proffitt, and Barbara Vandyke; his brothers Rick Cordle, Danny Cordle, Jack Cordle, and Jimmy Cordle; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
