Jessie Dwayne Brittain

Jessie Dwayne Brittain, age 66, of Lincolnton, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House of Huntersville. Born on November 3, 1959, in Cleveland County to the late Jessie Fred and Martha Marie Brown Brittain, he served as a veteran in the United States Army and worked as a self-employed trim carpenter. A longtime member of Plains View Baptist Church in Lawndale, Jessie was known for his love of coffee and a greasy bucket of KFC chicken. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy.

He possessed a distinctive sense of humor that remained with him until the very end, even joking that he wanted to be cremated so he could have a “smoking hot body” one last time. Jessie was preceded in death by his son, Quinton Justin Brittain, in addition to his parents.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer Brittain Wilson (Quincey), Matthew Ross Brittain (Karen), Tiffany Kay Brittain (Thomas), and Maranda Marie Brittain; his brothers, Danny A. Brittain (Mendy), Marty R. Brittain (Brenda), and John M. Brittain (Deanne); and his grandchildren, Caleb, Elizabeth, Ayden, Alexia, Louis, Jaxon, Cleveland, Jr., and the soon-to-arrive Thomas, Jr.
