Jessica Cheryl "Monkey" Massey

Jessica Cheryl “Monkey” Massey, age 32, of Monticello, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on April 11, 1993, in Covington, she was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend who grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family and the communities she called home.

Jessica possessed a lifelong passion for sports and excelled on the softball field. She played several years for the Rockdale Hysteria traveling softball team, where her competitive spirit and dedication made her a valued teammate and friend. She also enjoyed playing golf and basketball, always eager to embrace new challenges and share joyful moments with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her cousin, Katherine LeAnne Massey. Jessica is survived by her loving parents, Brandy and Scott Cox; her devoted sister, Madison Hardman; her grandparents, Cheryl Massey and Helen Colter; her uncles, Damon Massey (Michelle) and Scott Massey (Janet); and her cousins, Hannah, Morgan, Luke, Georgia, and John. She is also remembered fondly by several step-siblings, other family members, and a host of close friends who will miss her bright spirit and kind heart.

Jessica’s laughter, athleticism, and love for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
