Jesse Kenneth Godby, Sr.

Jesse Kenneth Godby, Sr., age 87, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday March 15, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1938.

He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Alan Godby, Sr.; his parents, Jesse Albert Godby and Ruth Preston Godby; his sisters, Merle Wright and Sandra Etris; and his brother, Danny Hart.

Kenneth shared 44 loving years of marriage with his devoted wife, Linda Eubanks Godby. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Norma Lindell; his children: Sheila Morris (Larry), Scott Winslett (Gina), Troy Winslett (Jennifer), Wesley Winslett (Jessica), and Jesse Godby, Jr. (Megan); and his daughter in law, Karen Godby. He was the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 17 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth retired from Electrolux after nearly 50 years of dedicated service and had a deep love for his country. He was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord deeply and cherished his family above all else.

While his family will deeply miss him, they find comfort in knowing he has entered his eternal home and heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating.
