He was predeceased by: his parents, Fenton Prewitt and Sarah Yocum Prewitt. He is survived by: his wife Deana Goodrich Prewitt; his children, Jerry Wayne Prewitt II, Walter Eugene Prewitt, Jonathan Prewitt, Troy Blair and Ashley Davis; his sisters, Nancy Parvin, Pamela Smith and Donna Reynolds; and his grandchildren, Zachary Prewitt, Whitley Beavers, Lauren Prewitt, Morgan Prewitt, Aleah Blackwell, Jared Blair, Cody Blair, Curtis Blair and Kyle Blair. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home (161 Broadway St, Versailles, KY 40383). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (3250 Versailles Rd, Frankfort, KY 40601).
