Jerry Wayne Perkins, a devoted family man and long-time worker at Veederoot, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Born on June 18, 1943, in Bladen County, North Carolina, Jerry’s life was marked by steadfast dedication and quiet perseverance.

Jerry spent many years diligently contributing his skills at Veederoot, where he was respected by colleagues for his commitment and work ethic. Despite the challenges he faced early in life, he showed remarkable determination by completing his high school diploma many years later, a testament to his enduring resolve to achieve personal goals.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, and father, whose family meant the world to him. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Perkins; his mother, Annie Belle Pait Perkins; his wife, Dorothy Edwards Perkins; his brother, Ronnie Perkins; and his special niece, Tracy Lynn Bryan. Their memory remained a cherished part of his life and legacy.

Jerry leaves behind his daughter, Penny Perkins Britt, and her husband Bobby, who provided him with great comfort and love. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Perkins Bryan. His family will remember him as a steady and caring presence, whose life story inspires strength, dedication, and humility.

Visitation with family will be held on March 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel, located at 3131 M.L.K. Dr, Elizabethtown, North Carolina, 28337. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel immediately after the visitation.  Burial will follow the Chapel service at the Old Field Cemetery on Twisted Hickory Road in Bladenboro, North Carolina.

Jerry Wayne Perkins’s life will be remembered with great respect. He was a man who quietly shaped those around him with a deep sense of integrity and steadfastness, serving as a pillar to his family and community. His passing leaves a sincere void, but also a legacy of strength and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
