Jerry Wayne Hoover, 83, of Powdersville, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Richard Campbell Veterans' Home. Born on October 5, 1942, in Severance, Kansas, he was the son of the late Garlen Hoover and the late Thelma Rittenhouse Hoover. One of six children, Jerry remained close to his siblings throughout his life.

He proudly served his country as a pilot in the Navy, demonstrating courage and steadfast commitment. After his military service, Jerry built a successful career as an engineer, retiring from Michelin, where his expertise, discipline, and perseverance earned him deep respect.

Jerry found quiet satisfaction in his hobbies, particularly collecting guns, which reflected his meticulous attention to detail and appreciation for history and craftsmanship. He also cherished fishing, finding peace and reflection in the stillness of nature.

Above all, Jerry treasured his role as a devoted father and Papa. He was a steady, warm presence in the lives of his family, offering unwavering support and creating a lasting foundation of love. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Hoover.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Turner (Kenneth) and Jennifer Stratton; grandchildren, Brooks Lee Turner (Tori) and Devlin Stratton; great-grandchildren, Sterling and Adenela Turner; sisters, Jeanette Eberling and Caroline Starr-Bates; and brothers, Gary, David, and Mike Hoover.
