Jerry Steadman

Jerry Don Steadman, 73, of Liberal, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center.

Born on November 23, 1952, in St. John, Kansas, to Richard and Betty (Chance) Steadman, Jerry lived a life marked by quiet dedication and hard work. He married Eve Lorraine Mata in La Junta, Colorado; she passed away on April 16, 2022. Over the years, Jerry worked as an electrician and earlier in his career at the La Junta Cemetery in Colorado and at National Beef Packing Company in Liberal.

He is survived by his sons, Shawn Stahle of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Jerod Steadman of Liberal, Kansas; his daughter, Trisha Potter of Anna, Texas; his brother, Gary Steadman of Colwich, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Terry Steadman and Larry Steadman, and one sister, Denise Hood. A private urn burial will take place at Liberal City Cemetery.
