The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of General Motors and member of Woodbury Baptist Church in Morgantown, KY. He was a son of the late Wesley Clarence Oakes and Florence Avo Mitchell Oakes and husband of the late Lometa Ann "Pat" Bull Oakes.He is survived by 1 daughter: Kimberly Ann Seals, Bowling Green, KY;1 sister: Sue Martin, Bowling Green, KY;3 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by 1 son: David Wayne Oakes; 2 brothers: Clarence Oakes and Ronnie Oakes and 1 sister: Ruby Lou Ross.Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Dover Cemetery with Bro. Charlie Patterson officiating.
