Jerry Nutter

Jerry Nutter, 66, of Lynchburg, Virginia, was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 28, 1959, in Clay County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Hood and Belle Mae Nutter Wood. He graduated from Heritage High School.

A longtime member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Jerry cherished time spent with family and friends. He found joy in camping, NASCAR racing, boating, shooting pool, and racing his 1969 Chevelle. Known affectionately as a family man, he was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and a jack of all trades who could fix anything.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Nutter; his daughter Crystal Varnado and son-in-law Matthew Varnado; his granddaughters Sophia and Caylee Varnado; his brothers Gary Nutter and Jeffrey Wood and their wives; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Wood.

Above all, Jerry was a devoted and loving husband, father, and Papaw. His greatest joy was, is, and will always be his family.
