Jerry Lee Thurman, affectionately known as “Charlie Boy,” passed away peacefully on March 10 at The Springs of El Dorado Nursing Home. Born on January 30, 1954, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Mildred Turner and Woodrow Thurman, both of Louisiana.

Jerry was a loving husband, father, and friend whose warm and caring nature touched everyone he met. Those around him knew him as a sweet soul who brought joy and laughter wherever he went, and he shared a deep, abiding relationship with God. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Mary, Betty, and Le Stine, and two brothers, Jesse and John.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Thurman; his daughters, Rosie Denise Thurman and Brittney Thurman; four grandchildren, Destiny, Lennord, Harmani, and Jamylah; two great-grandchildren, Jazyiah and Kelani Nevaeh; three brothers, Billy, Luther, and Daniel; three nieces, Crystal, Shasmine, and Shameka; five nephews, Carlton, Robert, Justin, Bubba, Jack, and Pat; and a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
