Jerry Lamar Bonds, age 84, of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born on September 3, 1941, in Hiram, he was the son of the late Rev. Willard Curtis Bonds and the late Mary Katherine Hurst Bonds.

A proud United States Army veteran, Jerry was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as a train conductor with CSX Railroad, retiring after more than 30 years of service. He cherished time spent outdoors, particularly deer hunting and fishing, and found joy in taking walks and practicing woodworking. Deeply devoted to his church, he actively participated in its activities and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Kuykendoll Bonds, and his sister, Emily Johnson.

He is survived by his daughters, Lorinda (Mark) Thackston and Lisa (Tim) Grant; his son, Stacy (Tara) Bonds; his brother, Randall (Linda) Bonds; his brother-in-law, Dan Johnson; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one more on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews.
