Born in Springfield, Illinois, on November 10th, 1956, son of Jerry Donaldson and WIlma (Lash) Donaldson.Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force before embarking on a long career as a machinist and pipefitter at Tampa Ship Yard. He was known for his dedication and skill, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues throughout his career.A Harley Davidson enthusiast, Jerry found joy in the freedom of the open road and the simple pleasures of tinkering in his garage. His passion for motorcycles was only surpassed by his devotion to family and friends, who brought immense happiness to his life. He also had a passion for music and was a drummer in a band. Jerry Donaldson's spirit and love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, adventure, and loyalty will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of crossing his path.Jerry is survived by his loving mother Wilma Donaldson of Springfield, Illinois, and his devoted daughter Lindsey Donaldson, also of Springfield. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren, Cody Donaldson, Collin Fugate, both of Springfield, Illinois, and Christopher Donaldson of Indiana. He will be remembered by his niece and nephew, Tequila Donaldson and Clint Donaldson, both of Springfield, and his beloved life partner, Vickie Diehl of Centralia, Illinois. Jerry was also a caring step-father to Shawn Diehl and his wife Susan of Centralia.Jerry leaves behind a network of special friends, including Mike Branon, Andy Huffstettler, Art Tellefson, Preston Stevenson, Colby Parker, Donnie Hemmings, Joseph Pellmen, Doodles Diehl, Terri Rollinson, and his beloved Crossroads Church Family.He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Donaldson, and his brother, Brent Donaldson.Per Jerry's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
