Jerry Don White of Cisco passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born on October 10, 1945, in Ralls to Melvin and Rosa White, Jerry grew up in Ranger. He worked at Feather Lite before being drafted into the United States Army in 1965, serving two years, including one year in Vietnam. In 1968, he married Shirley Harrell, and the couple later settled in Cisco. There, Jerry worked at Press Steel until it closed, then at Burgess Manning until his retirement at age 68.
Jerry found joy in playing guitar alongside his father, uncle Troy, and uncle Roy, as well as in metal detecting and repairing lawn mowers. Above all, he cherished his family and took great pride in his three children. He often spoke of his hope for a firstborn son and a daughter born on his own birthday, and he was blessed with both, along with another daughter.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley White of Cisco; his children, John White and wife Suzette of Cisco, Bernice Ingram and husband Terry of Cisco, and Donna Beaver of Throckmorton; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Coleman and husband Jack and Charlotte White, and his brother, Billy Ray White.
