Jerry Thompson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Whitt Funeral Home & Oakcrest Cremation Center on Mar. 17, 2026.Gerald "Jerry" Don Thompson was born July 16, 1941 to Joseph Gerald and Blanche (Steely) Thompson. He passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with family at his side. He was 84.Visitation is planned for Friday, March 20, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 10:30 A.M. at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Randy Southerland, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church West, officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Austen Boyd, Josh Caldwell, Ayden Reed, Chase Reed, Lantric Carter, and Tracy Pettigrew; honorary pallbearers are Bill Pettigrew and George Peterson.After his graduation from Duncan High School, Jerry proudly served in the US Army. After his service time he became a car salesperson, an occupation he loved, in Duncan. He had many pastimes, including going to the lake, fishing, feeding the deer at the lake, and going to the casino.He married his second wife, Elizabeth Boyd, in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 18, 1976. They were married for 46 years before her passing in 2022.Jerry is survived by his son, Ty Thompson; stepdaughter, Terri Caldwell; stepdaughter-in-law, Karen Boyd; grandchildren: Cheyann Goodman and husband Lantric Carter, Erick Thompson, Aaron Thompson; step-grandchildren: Joshua and wife Melinda Caldwell, Amber and husband Chase Reed, Austen and wife Jordan Boyd; great grandchild, Amani Carter; step-great grandchildren: Ayden Reed, Logan Reed, Axel Boyd, Bently Caldwell, Jasper Caldwell. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and George Peterson; sister- and brother-in-law, Verna and Bill Pettigrew; nephew, George Peterson Jr.; and niece, Chanda Lane.He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Jenean Thompson; son, Todd Thompson; stepson, Gary Boyd, and step-grandson, Johnny Boyd.Online condolences can be made at www.whittfh.com.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
