Jerry Dale Rasmus, 77, of Destrehan, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at St. Charles Ochsner in Luling.
Born in Iowa on May 10, 1948, to Clifford and Ada (Lillibridge) Rasmus, Jerry moved his family to Destrehan in 1988 after taking a position with ADM. He took quiet pleasure in tinkering with lawnmowers, fishing, and most of all, being with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Rasmus; his son, Troy (Kelly) Brierly; his brother, Harold Rasmus; and five grandchildren, Terence and Megann Brierly, Maylina Vasquez, Kane Naquin, and Anastasia Turner. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” (Paine) Rasmus; two sons, Gary Smith and Todd Brierly; two sisters, Coleen Cooper and Janet Rasmus; a brother, David Rasmus; and his parents.
Per his wishes, Jerry was cremated and no services will be held.
