He was predeceased by: his parents, Darwin D. Kester and Havis T. Kester; and his sister Sheila Kay Kester. He is survived by: his wife Theda; his son Bryan Kester; his stepson Stephen Eanes (Lynette); his granddaughter Emily Eanes; and his sister Sylvia Jones.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sandy Creek Baptist Church (25450 E Sayler's Creek Rd, Jetersville, VA 23083). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sandy Creek Baptist Church Children's Playground Fund.
