Jerry D. Kester

Jerry D. Kester, age 85 of Amelia, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026. He attended Sandy Creek Baptist Church and was honored and blessed to have been a member of the Sandy Creek Gospel Bluegrass Band. He loved his family and friends, woodworking, building musical instruments, fishing, and rabbit hunting. Preceded in death by his parents, Darwin D. Kester, and Havis T. Kester, and sister Sheila Kay Kester. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Theda, son Bryan Kester; and stepson Stephen Eanes (Lynette), grandaughter Emily Eanes; and sister Sylvia Jones. Family will greet friends in the old sanctuary at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, with a graveside service scheduled for 12 noon in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sandy Creek Baptist Church Children's Playground Fund. Jerry Loved VBS and the children.
