Hazlet, NJ

Jerald "Buddy" Jansen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on July 31, 1961, in Red Bank, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Helen and Edward Jansen. Buddy spent his childhood in Union Beach, later lived in Keyport, and settled in Hazlet, where he resided for 36 years.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 35 years, Wendy Jansen, and their four children: Nichole Kalantsis, John Jansen Kalantsis, Mandee Jansen, and Casey Jansen. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren—P.J., Bella, Emma, Gwen, Shea, Charlie, Cayden, Corra, and Violet—and three great-grandchildren: Jack, Gigi, and Cecelia. He is also survived by his brothers James, John, and Jeff, and his sister, Diane Hersh.

A master carpenter by trade, Buddy was a proud member of the Carpenters' Local 255 in Hammonton. He dedicated 40 years to his craft, most of them with Woodward Construction, where his skill, attention to detail, and strong work ethic earned him deep respect. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace in hunting, fishing, and caring for wildlife. Known for his remarkable ability to fix anything, Buddy was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends alike.

Above all, he was a devoted family man who took greatest joy in supporting his children and grandchildren. His unwavering presence at their sporting events and his steadfast love made him the best Dad and Poppy. He will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
