Preserve forever →Jenny L. Mueller-Bune
April 2, 1981— March 9, 2026
Roseville, MN
We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Jenny Lynne Mueller-Bune, 44, of Roseville, Minnesota. After living courageously with brain cancer for more than five years – including bravely enduring many treatments at Mayo Clinic – Jenny passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Jenny had a compassionate heart, an artistic eye, a hilarious sense of humor, and a deep love for her family. She was an artist in every facet of her life, spreading both color and light to everyone who knew her.
Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on April 2, 1981, she was the beloved daughter of Eileen Helen (Pippert) Mueller and Robert Charles Mueller. During many summers spent boating and playing on the Mississippi, they fostered in her a fun-loving nature and a deep appreciation for time with family.
Jenny graduated from Aquinas High School in 1999 and then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003. She spent her junior year abroad in Newcastle, England, where she attended studio classes and traveled throughout the United Kingdom and beyond at every opportunity.
Always part of a tight-knit family, Jenny remained close to her siblings into adulthood. After college, she shared an apartment in Madison with her brother, Patrick, before moving across the country to live with her sister, Amy, in Seattle. In Seattle, Jenny started her small business (Orange Peel Enamel), creating stunning pieces of enamel jewelry.
Jenny relocated back to the Midwest in 2009, to Saint Paul, Minnesota, and began her career in web development. She worked at Periscope for several years before becoming a Senior Developer at SONG, where she was recognized for her collaborative spirit and for pushing beyond her own limits.
Jenny and Mark Howard Bune were introduced by their close friends and married July 28, 2012, on Raspberry Island in Saint Paul, MN. They shared a rare and beautiful bond, truly kindred spirits. Their love was rooted in deep friendship, laughter, creativity, and devotion to one another and their family. Through life’s joys and challenges, their partnership remained a source of strength, tenderness, and grace.
Jenny was a devoted and patient mother to their daughters, Lila Eve Bune (age 11) and Hannah Juliet Bune (age 8). They were the joy and center of her world. She nurtured their curiosity, creativity, and kindness, encouraging them to see beauty in the small details of life and to move through the world with compassion and courage. Lila and Hannah will carry forward her light, laughter, and loving spirit throughout their lives.
Beyond her deep love for her family, Jenny’s greatest passion was art. She had a discerning eye for design and was enamored with the microcosms of life around her. Whether looking through a camera lens to explore the inside of a flower, or hunting for the perfect agate or smooth stone, she was always searching the world for beauty and intricate detail. She found immense joy in cultivating her beautiful garden in recent years, where she grew her favorite dahlias.
Jenny’s cleverness and wit made everyone smile and laugh. Sometimes it was a ridiculous comment, followed by a sly glance to see if you got the joke. Other times she’d go bold – maybe a bit beyond the bounds – to get the laugh, which she usually did. And even if she didn’t, and she still liked it herself – that was good enough for her.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Mark Bune; their daughters, Lila and Hannah; parents, Eileen (Pippert) and Robert Mueller; brother, Patrick Mueller, sister-in-law, Heather Goldberg, and nephews, Owen and Asher Mueller; sister, Amy Mueller Anderson, and niece, Robin Anderson; parents-in-law, Robert and Janet Bune; brother-in-law, Matthew Bune; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marianne Helen (Siewert) and Gordon George Pippert, and Mary Eleanor (Flatley) and Earle Delzer Mueller.
