Jennifer M. Bunn
November 17, 1948— March 6, 2026
Suffolk, VA
Jennifer M. Bunn passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at her home in Suffolk, Virginia, surrounded by her loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, deep faith, and quiet strength.
Jennifer was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and lived her life guided by those beliefs. A dedicated member of Oxford United Methodist Church since 1981, she served in many roles, including choir member, Lay Leader, church secretary, and active participant in the Women of United Methodist Church. She had a passion for helping others learn and grow, volunteering as a tutor with the Suffolk Literacy Council, working as a teacher’s aide for Suffolk Public Schools at Elephant’s Fork Elementary, and serving her community through AmeriCorps VISTA.
Jennifer found joy in reading, quilting, and creating beautiful handmade crafts that family and friends will treasure. She cherished family traditions, including preparing special recipes and sewing Christmas pajamas for her loved ones each year. She also enjoyed collecting and sharing inspirational quotes and stories. Known for her bright white hair, blue eyes, determined spirit, and sly sense of humor, she faced life’s challenges with resilience and believed that being a parent was one of life’s most important callings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Alice Brown; the father of her children, William E. Bunn; and her brothers, Ron, Dennis, and Todd Brown. Jennifer is survived by her children, Heather R. Brinkley (K. David) and Rachel L. Bunn of Suffolk, Virginia; William E. Bunn II (Heather) of Franklin, Virginia; Aaron T. Bunn (Eileen) of Hampton, Virginia; and Sandy J. Martelli (Rich), Nancy L. Wood (Mike), and Janet E. Wood (Tim) of Elmira, New York. She is also survived by her sisters, Tamara Brown and Debra Brown of Elmira, New York, and Barbara Wineland of South Carolina, along with sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
