1950 — 2026

Morehead City, NC

Jennifer Long Peppersack, 75, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Carteret Health Care.

Born on July 29, 1950, in Carteret County, North Carolina, to the late Ernest Edward Long and Thelma Audrey Salter, Jennifer carried a warm spirit and a deep love for caring for others from her earliest years. She found her calling in nursing and devoted her career to home health, where her kindness and compassion brought comfort to countless patients and their families. Her gentle presence left a lasting impression on all whose lives she touched.

Jennifer cherished her life near the coast, finding joy in the ocean and salt air that always felt like home. She held a special admiration for animals, particularly horses and dolphins. Creative and industrious, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and making latch hook rugs, often sharing her handmade gifts with those she loved. Above all, she was a proud and devoted grandmother whose grandchildren were the light of her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Barnett (Zachary) of Wendell, NC and Jennifer Day of Morehead City, NC; son, Howard Day of Morehead City, NC; sister, Carol Golden; half-sisters, Sabra Ambrose, Myra Long and Darnell Long; brother, Joe Gioielli; and grandchildren, Riley Barnett, Kyrie Barnett, Corey Barnett, and Justin Day. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Micah D. Bruns.
