Jennifer Lind Booth

September 8, 1961 March 6, 2026

Burlington, WY

Jennifer “Jenny” Booth, 64, of Burlington, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home on March 6, 2026. Born on September 8, 1961, in Elmira, New York, to the late John and Donna Soper Booth, she spent her childhood in Mansfield, White Haven, and Trucksville, Pennsylvania, graduating from Dallas High School in 1979. She cherished lifelong friendships, especially with Joan Harrison and Laurie Fry, the trio affectionately known as “The Three Amigos,” with whom she shared countless adventures.

Jenny’s deep love for the outdoors and western life began on her grandparents’ dairy farm in the Endless Mountains of northern Pennsylvania and took root when she answered an ad in Mother Earth News and headed west in 1980. She worked first as a nanny and then as a wrangler at Valley Ranch in Cody, Wyoming, and spent the following decades in Ketchum, Idaho; Telluride, Colorado; Reno, Nevada; and Ignacio, Colorado, before returning to Cody in 2009. She drove draft horse teams for sleigh rides, led pack trips into the Sawtooths, operated a cutting horse business, wrangled, landscaped, and prepared gourmet meals for hunting outfitters. She embraced every aspect of ranch life with a stalwart work ethic, a generous heart, and an enduring affection for the horses, dogs, and one-eyed cats that found their way to her.

In 2012, Jenny turned her artistic talents to full-time carving, transforming antlers and skulls into intricate, vibrant works inspired by Native American culture and the natural world. Incorporating silver, leather, and ivory, her detailed pieces earned numerous awards, including multiple People’s Choice honors at Cody High Style and Best of Show at the Western Design Conference. A longtime member of By Western Hands in Cody, she generously shared her skills through classes and demonstrations while building a warm community of friends and students. Her carvings now grace homes around the world.

Jenny is survived by her sister, Holly Booth Sethman (Rick) of Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania; her brother, Kevin Booth (Shelley) of Asheville, North Carolina; nieces Rainey Moschetta (Johnny), Caitlin O’Bryan (Adam), Carly Sethman (Ham Wisetjung), and Lucy Booth; nephew Gardner Booth; and great-nieces and nephews Roman, Rosalind, Maya, and one on the way. She is also survived by her longtime partner, Mike Goton of Shell, Wyoming, with whom she shared many years of love and laughter, and her beloved dog, Irma. She was preceded in death by her parents and by Travis Darling, whom she considered her stepson.
