Jennifer Leanne Barger

July 22, 1975 March 11, 2026

State College, PA

Jennifer Leanne Phillips Barger, 50, of State College, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born on July 22, 1975, in Statesville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Joe Hubert and Barbara Penninger Phillips. She graduated from North Iredell High School in 1993 and earned her degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1999. On September 27, 2008, she married Gregory Neal Barger, who survives her.

Jennifer found great joy in her work as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines and, for the past eight years, as a paraprofessional at Mount Nittany Middle School. She also pursued her creative passions through Jen Barger Photography and Jen Just Sews, selling her handmade arts and crafts at local shows. Deeply involved in her community, she was active with MOPS, the Winter Craft Market, and Scouting. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured every moment spent in fellowship with those around her.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory; their two sons, Clayton Russell and Samuel Joseph Barger; her parents, Joe and Barbara Phillips; her sister, Mary Monheim (Richard); niece Haley Monheim; nephew Jakeb Monheim; and her in-laws, George and Fran Barger, along with the extended Barger family, many friends, co-workers, and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clayton and Lois Phillips, and her maternal grandparents, Sam and Catherine Penninger.
