Jennifer Joy Peterson

Jennifer was a fun, strong, and passionate woman who lived with honesty and conviction. She spoke her mind, loved to learn, and connected easily with others through her genuine curiosity and warmth. Her encouraging spirit and deep care for those around her allowed her to touch many lives, always letting the people she loved know how proud she was of them and how much she wanted the best for them.

Born on February 11, 1981, in South Minneapolis to John Windorpski and Marlene Crawford, Jennifer was raised by her grandmother, Iola Windorpski. Her grandmother introduced her to cooking at a young age, a passion she carried into adulthood as a chef in numerous restaurants. She later found great joy working in a college cafeteria, where she loved engaging with young students and bright minds.

A devoted mother of four, Jennifer cherished her children and took immense pride in their every success. Her children are Andrea Joy Peterson, Carlos Porras Peterson, Anthony Porras Peterson, and Jose Espinosa. She is also survived by her siblings Jesse Peterson, Sean El-Shabazz, Angelene Wu, and Sara Clarke. At the time of her passing on March 6, 2026, at the age of 45, Jennifer had recently become a grandmother to her son Anthony’s first-born child, Pol Antione Porras Flores.
