Jennifer J. Heal-Burns

Jennifer J. Heal-Burns passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 49, after a courageous 13-year battle with cancer. Born on December 10, 1976, to Jeff Heal and Joyce Walter in Viola, Wisconsin, she grew up in Hatley and graduated from D.C. Everest Senior High School in 1995. She went on to attend State College of Beauty Culture in Wausau.

Jenny worked for more than ten years as a hair stylist at Cost Cutters in Rothschild, where her warm conversational style and genuine care for her clients created lasting bonds, especially with her older customers whom she treated like family. A self-described “people person,” she later spent another decade in customer service at Banner Banks in Hatley, where her kindness and willingness to go above and beyond earned her the respect and affection of many. In 2013 she was diagnosed with liposarcoma. True to her character, she faced her illness with quiet courage, a great sense of humor, and no desire for attention.

On October 22, 2016, Jenny married Christofer L. Burns and moved to Plainfield. Together they enjoyed caring for their pets, fishing, attending rummage sales, gardening, and canning and selling their own pickles. She found great joy in her work at Union Telephone, where her co-workers quickly became dear friends. Christofer passed away on August 29, 2025, in a motor vehicle accident.

Jenny is survived by her parents, Joyce (Clyde) Patterson and Jeff (Dawn) Heal; her brother, Jay (Stacy) Heal; her special nephew, Blake Heal; and her cherished friends, Heather Tulickas, Trudy Wanichek, and Shannon Volden-Schultz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Christofer. Her final message to everyone she loved was simply to “Be Kind.”
