Jennifer Beck Sastram, age 53, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Newberry, South Carolina.
Born in Franklin, Maryland, to Michael Beck and Mary Rogers, Jennifer grew up attending schools in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, before completing her education in Florida. She spent many years working as a nurses assistant, caring for others with genuine compassion and kindness. She loved all kinds of music, enjoyed traveling, and treasured the time she spent with her grandsons. Those close to her will remember her infectious laugh, radiant smile, and the way a raised eyebrow signaled she meant business.
Jennifer maintained a deep and personal relationship with the Lord throughout her life and was actively seeking a new church home. Having walked her own path through recovery, she became a passionate advocate for others facing similar struggles, offering them encouragement, understanding, and hope.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Sastram; her son, Tony Goetting (Kristin Goetting); her parents, Michael Beck and Mary Rogers; and her sisters, April Beck Sligh (Bryan Sligh) of Newberry, South Carolina, and Scarlet Poul (Dave Poul) of Cleveland, Tennessee. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Randall Goetting, Carter Goetting, and Luke Goetting, and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of a granddaughter. She also leaves behind her nephews Austin Tucker and Michael Poul, her special niece ReGenea Sligh Long, great-nephews James and Nolan, and many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Goetting, in 1991.
Jennifer will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, her vibrant spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Her memory will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
