Jennie Butera ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Dello Russo Funeral Home - Medford on Mar. 16, 2026.Jennie Butera, of Stoneham formerly of Boston's North End, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 12, 2026, following a short period of declining health. She was 94. Jennie was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Butera. Born in Boston she was one of thirteen children of the late Charles and Anna (Gilardi) Bono.Jennie was raised and educated in Boston and worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the former Savarese Cheese Company prior to her retirement. Over the years Jennie enjoyed some traveling but mostly enjoyed being at home spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the holidays when all her family would be together and in more recent years she always looked forward to going out for Friday night dinners with her nieces and nephews. Jennie was also a devout Catholic and found great comfort in practicing her faith. She will be greatly missed.Jennie is the cherished sister of Vincent Bono and his wife Carol of Lynnfield, Anthony Bono and his wife Carol of Saugus, Michael Bono of Saugus, Joseph Bono of New York City, Louis Bono and his wife Maureen of Saugus, the late Anna and Gildo Federico, Josephine and Domenic Conte, Lillian and Ralph Galante, Marie and Tony Piscitello, Teresa Bono, Charles and Pat Bono, Paul and Lorraine Bono. She is further survived by many many loving nieces and nephews.Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather and visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, March 20th, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions in Jennie's memory can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
