Jennie Belle Cowan Brown

Jennie Belle Cowan Brown, age 87, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on September 17, 1938, in Coldwater, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Jon Willie Cowan and Josephine Beddingfield Cowan.

A devoted homemaker and wife, Jennie spent many years as an employee of the Lincoln County Health System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hayes Brown, and two of their children, sons Tony L. Brown and John Robert Brown, as well as daughter Sandra Kay Ashby. She was the loving mother of eight children: Mary Frances Williams, Lola Belle Renegar, Robbie Juanitta Crews, Charlene Powell, and Lisa Massey, in addition to those who preceded her.

Jennie was the last surviving member of her generation. She was preceded in death by her sisters Martha Allen Cowan, Mary Ann Cowan Tucker, Fannie Lou Cowan Sanders, and Annie Sue Cowan Warren, and her brothers Roy Theo Cowan, John Thomas Cowan, and Harry Cowan. She is survived by a large and loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a woman who centered her life on family, service, and quiet strength.
