Jeffrey Hartley ObituaryVisit the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home - Canal Winchester website to view the full obituary.Jeffrey Wayne Hartley, 66, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on March 14, 2026. He graduated from Groveport High School, class of 1977, where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Flowers.Jeff was a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Despite knowing almost nothing about the sport, Jeff volunteered when asked to coach his son Michael's youth soccer team and learned everything he could about it. Jeff almost never missed a game all the way through Michael's college years, no matter where the games were played. Jeff also loved watching his grandsons' hockey and baseball games, whether in person in Saint Louis, at tournaments throughout the region, or by livestreams.Jeff was also a dedicated and brilliant employee for 48 years at Crane Plastics in Columbus, Ohio, where he began his career following his high school graduation in 1977. Jeff was a named inventor on multiple United States Patents for the use of polymers in vinyl siding production. Jeff stayed with thecompany through several acquisitions for his entire career, working his way up the ranks to Operations Manager at Westlake Royal Building Products. When Jeff was not working at the plant, Jeff was doing something outside, whether working on something at his home, in the yard, in the garage, at his parents' home, at his son's home, or for anyone he knew that needed help with just about anything. Jeff was also an avid and skilled golfer, hitting the links every weekend year-round so long as there was not too much snow on the ground.Jeff's love of cars, especially Ford Mustangs, was more than a hobby. It was a passion. Jeff built his own personal workshop at his home, a four-car garage with seemingly every tool ever created. If something was broken or not running well, Jeff either knew what to do or figured it out and then and did it himself. And he did it while the rock music was blaring.Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Earl Hartley. Jeff is survived by his wife, Lisa Hartley (Flowers), his mother Shirley Hartley (Oldaker), his brother Kevin Hartley, his son Michael and his daughter-in-law Stacy, and his grandsons Darren, Joshua, and Alexander. Jeff also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.A Celebration of Life in Jeff's honor will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at https://www.spencefuneralhome.com/obituaries/Jeffrey-Wayne-Hartley?obId=47740215In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute in Jeff's honor.Read The Full Obituary
