In Loving Memory of

Jeffrey Salvatore Fichera, PA-C

July 21, 1956 – February 26, 2026

It is with profound sadness and overflowing love that the family of Jeff announces his peaceful passing on February 26, 2026, surrounded by those who cherished him most. He was 69 years young, years lived fully, generously, and with an uncommon grace that touched every life he encountered.

Jeff was born in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of Salvatore and Isabel Fichera. He grew up in a large, deeply rooted Italian family where hard work, human dignity, and the love of family weren’t just values they were a way of life. Those roots never left him.

He launched his career in the small town of Philippi, West Virginia, graduating with honors from Alderson Broaddus University and serving as Chief Physician Assistant at Myers Clinic. He quickly became more than a provider there, he became a fixture of the community, known and trusted by the people he served.

In 1993, Jeff and his family made their home in Orlando, Florida, where he joined Ear, Nose and Throat Surgical Associates. Over the next 33 years, he built a career defined not just by clinical excellence, but by genuine dedication to his patients and his profession.

He earned his Master of Medical Science and PhD, served as President of the Society of Physician Assistants in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and contributed to clinical practice guidelines recognized across the country. He taught at the University of Central Florida and gave freely of his time and knowledge to those coming up behind him.

To his peers, he was a leader. To so many others, he was simply the person who showed them how it was done.

But ask anyone who knew Jeff what mattered most to him, and the answer was never a title or an award. It was Vicki.

His wife of 45 years his “Bride” was the great love of his story. Together they built something rare: a partnership rooted in laughter, in Saturday morning coffee, in the quiet steadiness of two people who genuinely chose each other, again and again. He liked to say that marrying her was the smartest thing he ever did. He said it often, and he meant it every time.

Jeff is survived by his three children, Dana (“Dane”), Angela (“Angie”), and Jessica (“Jessie”), along with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. To them, he was a father and a Papa who was always there, at recitals and ball games, swim meets and milestone moments, at kitchen tables and hospital waiting rooms. He gave advice when it was asked for, and held his tongue wisely when it wasn’t. He never made a speech about what kind of man to be. He just was one, and everyone around him knew it.

He will be deeply, endlessly missed and forever loved.
