Jeffrey S. Ables Sr.

Jeffrey S. Ables Sr., known affectionately as Jeff or Boulder, age 65, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2026, at Atrium Medical Center. Born in Dayton, Ohio, on November 17, 1960, he was the son of the late Marjorie A. (Brown) and Donald O. Ables. Jeff was a true Jack of all Trades, a man who could turn his hand to anything. He found great joy in fishing and was a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his brother Larry Ables. Jeff is survived by his wife of 11 years, Tammy (VanHouten) Ables; his son Jeffrey S. (Ashley Miller) Ables; his daughter Dixie Ables; four stepchildren, Tracey Fagnant, Anthony “TJ” Wyckoff, Kristina Hamler, and Tori Ladd; two grandchildren, Temperance and Leon Ables; seven step-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Wilson and Deborah Crump; his brother Charles “Charlie” Ables; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered as a capable, warm-hearted man who embraced life with quiet competence and a generous spirit, leaving a lasting place in the hearts of his family.
