Jeffrey Gene Sooy

April 12, 1965 February 8, 2026

Prescott, AZ

Jeff Sooy was born on April 12, 1965, to Donald Gene Sooy and Sue Kathleen (Proctor) Sooy in Seattle, Washington. He passed away on February 7, 2026, at Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Hospital in Arizona. At an early age, he moved with his mother to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he became part of the Ronald Robinson family when Sue and Ron married in 1977. The family later lived in New York and Aurora, Colorado, where Jeff graduated from high school. He went on to attend community college in Seattle, Washington, and the University of Colorado at Boulder.

An adventurer at heart, Jeff lived in several cities over the years, including Albuquerque, New Mexico, Aurora, Colorado, Cleveland, Ohio, and New Orleans, Louisiana, before settling in Prescott, Arizona. He found great joy in the gym and made fitness a central part of his life. In Colorado, he trained alongside a Denver Bronco, one of the “three amigos,” and generously coached friends and family in weightlifting, nutrition, and bodybuilding. Jeff was also a talented artist who created several acrylic paintings that adorned his home.

He will be remembered as a jovial, intelligent, loyal, and exceptionally kind man. Jeff is survived by his stepfather, Ronald Robinson, a brother, a sister, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue, his father, Donald, his grandparents, and an aunt and uncle. A private family commitment service will be held.
