Jeffrey Gene Buckhannon

Jeffrey Gene Buckhannon passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on October 29, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from February 9, 1966, until his honorable discharge on February 8, 1972, attaining the rank of Sergeant.

Jeffrey was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He cherished time spent with family and friends and held especially close relationships with his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Rita Buckhannon; his son, Michael Buckhannon; his daughter, Katherine Buckhannon; his sister, Madalyn Caswell; his brothers, Richard Gordon and Edward Whalens (Sharrie); his sister, Linda Leonhardt (Kenneth); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jeffrey enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing pool, fishing, and making trips to the iconic Coney Island in New York. His warmth, sense of humor, and easygoing nature made him someone people always enjoyed being around.

Jeffrey touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and the love he shared with those around him. He was preceded in death by Homer Buckhannon and Ruth Johnson.
