Jeffrey Denney

Jeffrey Dean Denney, age 53, passed away March 12, 2026 at his home. Jeffrey was born July 2, 1972 in Watauga County, NC to Virginia Presnell and the late Junior Dean Denney. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Denney; sister, Tina Hicks and brother-in-law, Ronnie Hicks.

Jeffrey was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and hunting.

In addition to his mother, Virginia Presnell, those left to cherish his memories include his son, Joseph Denney; sisters, Tammy Click (Sam), Jennifer Courtner (J.R.), Amanda Denney (Jonathon); grandchildren, Noah Denney, Aiden Denney; aunts, Cathy Guy, Linda Taylor, Susie Johnson, Betty Jo Farmer; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Billy Morefield officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow at Donnelly Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.R. Courtner, Sam Click, Michael Lewis, Bobby Wallace, Dalton Hicks and Cody Hicks.
