Our brave, caring, and unimaginably strong husband, father, grandfather, and brother entered Heaven's gates on Saturday, February 28, 2026.Jeffery was born in March 1956, to LeRoy and Evelyn Gast. He and his brother, John, grew up and remained life-long residents of Bridgman, Michigan, where many cherished memories were created between the two of them over the years. After graduating from Bridgman High School in 1974, Jeff joined the Bridgman City Police Department before transitioning to the Lake Township Fire Department for many years, parting ways as Assistant Chief.In 1999, Jeff met Patricia "Trish", and they later married in 2006. They enjoyed cruising around his Harley, often taking trips to South Dakota and Las Vegas. Jeff also enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, especially watching all of his grandkids enjoy his pool during the summer. He loved sitting outside with his dog, watching the squirrels.In 2003, Jeff and his wife founded Jeff's Towing and Recovery. He built a company not only on hard work and determination, but on integrity and generosity. He had a genuine commitment to serving the community. Through years of dedication, Jeff turned a vision into a thriving business that provided opportunity and friendship to countless employees and customers alike.He will be remembered for his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a playful story that could brighten even the hardest day. Being around him meant laughter was never far away, and he had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and at ease. Whether sharing stories at family gatherings or teasing those he loved most, he brought joy wherever he went. The sound of his laughter and the smiles he created will remain a cherished part of the memories held by all who knew him.Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Evelyn Gast; his brother, John Gast; his stepson, Scott Herrman; and his best friend and good boy, Berger.He is survived by his wife, Patricia (De Leeuw); his children, Amiee (Andrew) Clay, Kelly Gast, and Alex (Abby) Gast; his stepchildren, David (Emma) Reisenbichler, Jennifer (Jamie) Breckenridge, Jason (Cecilia) Reisenbichler, and Eric Herrman; his grandchildren, Ezra, Eliza, Colt, Takiya, David Jr., Bianca, Parker, Sydney, Karis, Josiah, Kyla, Kiptyn, Jaysea, Shyleigh, Mylan, Abigail, Ellie, and Carter; his cousin, James "Jimmy" (Mary) Gast; his sister-in-law, Cindy Gast; and many dear friends.The family will host a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 2pm until 5pm at D'Agostino's Navajo Bar and Grille, 8970 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, Michigan. Interment will be held privately.
